Ben DeNucci for Minnesota Senate

Minnesota Roots and Community-Driven

Ben DeNucci is a fifth generation Iron Ranger, former Mayor of his hometown of Nashwauk, and a small business owner. After learning his home communities’ grocery store faced closure, Ben put together a team that kept the doors open and saved more than a dozen union jobs. This year, Ben stepped in and acquired the Eveleth Market to keep another store in business and union workers employed. He believes in vibrant communities and knows how to build coalitions to keep them strong.

Currently serving as an Itasca County Commissioner, Ben has valuable experience working in City and County government. As a Mayor, he collaboratively worked with the neighboring City of Keewatin to access State bonding funds for a much-needed wastewater treatment project. Ben fought to create new jobs in the mining and construction industries at both the City and County government level. Under his leadership as an Itasca County Commissioner, Ben created renewed investment in economic and community development across the Iron Range. A staunch supporter of unions, he led the passage of two Project Labor Agreements for County construction projects benefiting local workers.

Ben was a member of a project team that resoundingly passed a referendum to replace the oldest school buildings in the State of Minnesota – facilities located in Nashwauk and Keewatin. His advocacy was instrumental and resulted in United States Steel donating 40 acres of valuable land for the new facility to be built. His relationships with local legislators led to necessary project funding.

Ben brings proven experience in small business and local government along with a track record of support for Labor and Education to his bid for the Minnesota State Senate. You can see the long list of organizations Ben supports below.
